Chapter Two in my book, "BUMBLEBEES CAN FLY: Developing the Inherent Power in Young Men of Color and Others Needed to Achieve in Education and to Succeed in Life" the following quote by Dr. Martin Luther King is quoted: " We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action." When tomorrow becomes today, we find ourselves in a moment of decision that Dr. Martin Luther King referred to as "the Urgency of Now." Young black and brown men, as well as women of color and the poor, are disproportionately negatively affected by the inhumane effects of marginalization in a myriad of ways. Of all the nations of the world, the United States of America was founded as a place where theoretically all the disenchanted and discouraged could dream and believe and do the hard work, as well as the smart work to live a better life than their parents, and to leave a legacy of hope for their children and grandchildren. That promise belongs to all people! It is not for some Americans, it's for all Americans. A Crisis is allowed by GOD for PURPOSED CHANGE! It's time to Make that Change! GOD deserves it and so does all humanity! #EveryoneMatters2GODAndShouldMatter2OneAnother!
